You are correct, you can get the standings, erect the POS and then "let the standings slide" There are people that "sell" corps with high standing so you can avoid the grind yourself.

I've had 3 disappear today alone. All 3 out of POS jobs. 1 from a POS lab, One from an ammo build One from a module assembly array (this bpo is locked down and still disappeared) It's not in any corp hangar, its not in the personal hangars, also...
